Frankly, it's disheartening that so many Christians are being impacted by this message. It twists the meaning of Christ as the Prince of Peace (a peace which rewarded Him with a violent death on a cross). As His followers, it urges us to stop angering the world, when the message of repentance and faith we carry is inherently offensive to our dying generation. Anyway, thanks for speaking the Truth. It's becoming increasingly rare these days. God bless!

I am just curious have you actually read the books? Because I would consider myself a conservative fundamentalist, I personally value the thoughts of my elders, and I do believe that homosexuality is a sin etc.

Yet I found these books very challenging to the culture of Christianity that is often found today. Whether or not you agree with the title's, if you have not read the books I suggest that you do, at least view them as an education on anothers' view point (?) just a suggestion :)
Nice Blog.

I was blessed to be a student during Dr. Joe's last year. I think every time I listed to him teach at chapel I was brought to tears. The Holy Spirits power was certainly there when he spoke. My wife was having a lot of pain and dizziness in her head and neck that year. During one of our school functions, I had the opportunity to meet with him. He asked how I was doing. He was very sincere. I told him about my wife and that I was thinking about leaving the Seminary for this medical purpose. He sent us to his doctor. We stayed. I was saddened, but also excited for him.

I think you pretty much nailed what that movie and book are about. They say basically the same things but in a few more words (they are books after all).

Sorry, I didn't laugh at all (until the Johns). You must have a source for your beliefs...Might it be the Bible?

It is interesting to read this, not because I do not disagree but I am wondering how would you counsel a Christian to find balance and work in balance? Meeting tangible needs is an act of mercy at times. Tell me, at what times does one offer the gospel and focus the resources of the ministry on that pursuit only? How do ministries that provide acts of mercy redefine their mission so that the gospel is first and foremost. O am curious as to what you think the planning and though process should look like for achieving balance.
